[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Our little furry friends bring a lot of joy into our lives, but sometimes, that joy comes with confusion. For example, why would a dog tip over his food bowl? What joy must he possibly derive by doing this? Or is it usually an accident that even he can’t explain?

The questions are endless, and their answers are vague. So, it is best not to stress over them. What we can do instead is find a few ways to curb this behavior. This will ensure cleanliness and peace of mind for you and your dog!

The good news is that the solutions are very easy to execute. None of them involves reprimanding your best friend in any way. Let’s explore them now:

How to Stop Dog From Flipping Food Bowl?

Change the food bowl completely

We have noticed that a few food bowls are very easy to tip. So, the ideal thing to do would be to replace them with non-tip bowls. The market today has bowls that come with an anti-tip pad at the bottom. These will help you to a great extent. It is nearly impossible for your dog to tip such bowls over. Another idea would be to get an elevated bowl. Elevated bowls come with a stand. So, they are off the ground completely. The only thing to remember while buying these bowls is to check the height of your dog. It shouldn’t be too high for him. Otherwise, it can cause discomfort and neck problems.[/vc_column_text][ultimate_carousel slides_on_desk=”4″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”66″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”65″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”73″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”68″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/ultimate_carousel][vc_btn title=”Buy Now” color=”warning” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FCanCooker-Chemical-Free-Microwave-Safe-Collapsible-Preparation%2Fdp%2FB08NXYKWJP%2F%3Ftag%3Ddadogsyard-20||target:%20_blank|rel:nofollow”][vc_column_text]

Take it away for an hour

If your little guy is attached to his food bowl, you will have a hard time convincing him to eat from another. But that’s okay! Don’t stress him out unnecessarily. You can try this method instead. Next time your dog tips over the food bowl, just quietly take the bowl away and clean the area. Replace it after an hour or so. In due course, he will understand that whenever he tips the bowl over, he loses his food. He will learn to stop it.

A few additional tips

To help you further, we have listed out a few additional, handy tips for you:

  • Don’t yell at your fur friend. He doesn’t mean to annoy you by tipping his bowl. It is mostly an accident, and he is very sorry already. Also, yelling will get you nowhere. It does not help at all!
  • Lay out newspapers during the training period so that any mess is easy to clean.
  • Do not use a plastic bowl. They get harder to clean as they age, and they don’t do any favors to the environment either.
  • Keep a close eye for a few days, and when you see him starting to tip his bowl, say “no.”  This works well if your dog has already learned that no means to stop whatever he is doing immediately.

Dogs are the best gifts to humans, and they would never intentionally frustrate us. However, some of their quirks may need special attention. Tipping over food bowls is one of them. It is not a very big deal. So, it is important that you stay calm and take the required measures. Negative reinforcement will only cause your dog to get scared of you or start showing signs of aggression. That’s bad!

All the best! We hope our tips help your dog stop tipping the bowl. 🙂[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
